Brace yourself, we got this!
WHY DO WE CABLE AND BRACE TREES?
Cabling and bracing have been used in trees for decades to provide support and prevent damage and/or loss of trees. Weak branches, split limbs, or heavy limbs often benefit from being properly supported by cabling and bracing which help to limit movement by excessive wind, ice or snow. By cabling and bracing your trees you're helping extend the life of your trees. Although, cabling and bracing does not completely mitigate the risk of mechanical failure, it does however greatly reduce the chance of damage or loss during Oklahoma storms.
WILL CABLING AND BRACING HURT MY TREES?
When trees are trimmed, damaged, or have open wounds they will experience some amount of decay, the same is true when cabling and bracing. Then why would you cable and brace my tree? More often than not, when our ISA Certified Arborist recommends cabling and bracing it is to help mitigate a risk much greater than the small amount of decay a tree would sustain from cabling and bracing.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO CABLE AND BRACE MY TREES?
As soon as you notice any of the signs mentioned above, or when recommended to do so by our ISA Certified Arborist. We install cabling and bracing year round. Again, cabling and bracing is a preventive measure, therefore it is best to do so when symptoms arise.
